Ajibade was arrested for alleged battery and taken to the county jail. According to police, Ajibade assaulted three officers and was placed in a restraint chair. Footage from a Taser camera showed he was shocked in the groin while restrained. He was later found dead in his cell. A coroner ruled that Ajibade died from blunt-force injuries. Nine deputies were fired and two indicted with manslaughter. Both were acquitted of manslaughter but found guilty of lesser charges.
